Phil Warren returns to the Grizzlies in 2021 as the VP of Baseball Operations. 

Warren spent the past 13 seasons as the Grizzlies manager, the longest tenure in team history, earning 604 wins at the helm. In 2010, Warren passed former Gateway manager Danny Cox to become the franchise’s all-time leader in managerial wins.

Warren led the Grizzlies to a 57-39 regular season record and a West Division title in 2012. In his first two seasons with the Grizzlies, he led the team to a pair of playoff appearances including a franchise-record 64 wins during his inaugural season in 2007. The former Frontier League All-Star spent the 2006 season as the Director of Player Personnel and was named the fourth manager in franchise history on November 3, 2006.

Prior to the 2006 season, the St. Louis native spent three seasons on the playing field for the Grizzlies and parts of six total seasons in the Frontier League. Warren retired following the 2005 season with many Gateway career offensive records, including most games played, hits, home runs, and RBIs. Warren held 11 total Grizzlies offensive records when he retired as a player.

Prior to his Frontier League career, he was an all-conference performer at Southeast Missouri State University. He and Grizzlies hitting coach Darin Kinsolving were inducted into the SEMO Athletics Hall of Fame as members of the 1998 Ohio Valley Conference championship team, the first RedHawks group to ever win the OVC and qualify for an NCAA Regional.

Warren played high school baseball and soccer at Vianney High School. He owns and operates the Grizzlies Baseball Academy. Warren and his wife, Sarah, reside in Freeburg, Ill.
