The reigning Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, Bryan Soloman brings a powerful swing and a capable glove at third base to the Berkshires for Coach Bryan Adamski this summer.

In his second season at Eastern Kentucky, Soloman posted a .266 average on 54 hits to help the Colonels clinch a share of the regular-season crown in the OVC. The Toms River, N.J., native finished with a team-leading 14 homers while driving in 46 – tied for second on the team. He also scored 30 runs and belted 15 doubles.

Soloman broke out with a rookie campaign that saw him bat .310 with nine home runs, a team-best 17 doubles and 40 RBI. Soloman was one of only two Colonels to start all 57 games in 2011, providing EKU with middle-of-the-lineup power throughout the season and finishing with a .516 slugging percentage en route to being named to the Louisville Slugger All-American Rookie Team.

In high school, Soloman nearly set a national record with a home run in nine consecutive games and was a two-time preseason Under Armour All-American.

The son of Stephen and Claire, Bryan was born Sept. 15, 1991 and is pursuing a degree in sports management.
