- Comes from a baseball-playing family, with father Mark playing at Auburn University (1989-92) before pitching professionally in the New York Mets organization for five years (reaching as high as Triple-A), then coaching at both NC State and Auburn; brother Brooks also played for Auburn (2019-22)
