Dean Deetz, pitcher, was signed by the Kansas City Monarchs on May 17. Deetz was born on November 29, 1993 in Nixa, Missouri. He attended Nixa High School and went on to play college ball at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 11th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He started off his career in the minor leagues through his first four seasons until getting called up to the majors. Overall in his minor league career Deetz has 31 wins, a 3.85 ERA, and 395 strikeouts. He made his Major League debut in 2018 with the Astros.
