A Shrewsbury native, Andreoli was a solid contributor for the Gatemen last summer in the 19 games he saw action in. He batted .244 with two doubles, four RBI and six stolen bases for Wareham. He also spent 11 games with the Brewster Whitecaps and notched a combined .271 batting average in 30 total Cape League games.
At UConn this past spring, the junior began the season knocking the ball around the field. Through 40 games, he hit .325 with three doubles and 17 RBI.
In his sophomore campaign, he had a bat to be reckoned with. In 58 games, he hit .362 with 71 hits and 24 walks. Andreoli recorded an on-base percentage of .419 and a slugging percentage of .454. He also stole 24 bases in 27 attempts.
As a freshman, he hit .367 in 34 games (13 starts), totaling a home run and 12 RBI.
In the classroom, he was a four-year National Honor Society honoree.
His father, John, played football at Holy Cross and in the NFL with the New England Patriots. His grandfather, Fran O'Brien, was a longtime baseball and basketball coach at M.I.T. and Holy Cross. And his cousin, Daniel Bard, is a former Gatemen and Cape League All-Star and currently a reliever for the Boston Red Sox.
