Ron is an “inner city” product of Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood where he was born and raised. A 1985 graduate of St. Rita H.S. in Chicago where he was an All American, All State, and team MVP. He played collegiately at Triton College and finished at St. Xavier. A 2 time All Star selection in the C.I.C.L. Ron has represented the USA in World Tournaments in Europe, South America, and Taiwan on U.S. National Teams. After college Ron played professionally in Mexico, then later played for Prairie Gravel the semi-pro powerhouse in the Chicagoland area, where he was a member of their 1996 national championship team. He then coached the team to the prestigious National Baseball Congress national championship in 2005. As assistant coach at Triton College he helped them participate in 5 Div. 1 World Series as recruiting coordinator. Ron is no stranger to independent baseball. He has worked for the Sioux City Explorers in the American Association, and most recently for the Southern Illinois Miners in the Frontier League. He has held dual roles with each, in player procurement and bench coach. He is widely considered one of the best in the country at what he does in independent baseball.
