Early lead gives the Fort Worth Cats easy victory over the San Angelo Colts, 12-5

The Fort Worth Cats (14-5) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the San Angelo Colts (9-10), recording a 12-5 victory on Tuesday at Foster Field.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Fort Worth Cats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A hit by pitch, a wild pitch, a groundout by Jose Ruiz, a single by Brandon Jones, a two-run single by Gabe Memmert, and during the first inning and and a groundout by RJ Harris in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Fort Worth Cats.

Jones racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Fort Worth Cats.

Landon Camp had two extra-base hits for the San Angelo Colts. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Steve Barnes got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed four runs over five innings. Barnes struck out seven, walked five and gave up five hits.

Chad Nading (0-1) took the loss for the San Angelo Colts. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked four and struck out one.
