The bats were busy at Sierra College on Saturday, and when the dust cleared the Sacramento Scorch (1-2) had an 11-8 win over the Alameda Merchants (3-1).

The teams totaled 21 hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to six lead changes in the game.

It was a good day at the plate for the Sacramento Scorch's Trevor McVey. McVey went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.

Chris Daniels picked up the win for the Sacramento Scorch. Daniels allowed one earned run, seven hits and four walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Seve Villarruel ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
