Alton gives the San Rafael Pacifics late push to beat the Hawaii Stars, 3-2

Matthew Alton drove in the go-ahead run to give the San Rafael Pacifics (26-14) the lead in the sixth inning, as the San Rafael Pacifics hung on to beat the Hawaii Stars (20-20) 3-2 on Friday.

Johnny Woodard singled to start the sixth. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Chase Fontaine. Finally, Alton came to the plate with the score tied at one, and was hit by a pitch, bringing home Woodard.

The San Rafael Pacifics held off the Hawaii Stars, as the Hawaii Stars were unable to overcome a two-run sixth inning deficit.

The Hawaii Stars scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Dion Pouncil. Still, the Hawaii Stars couldn't catch the San Rafael Pacifics.

The San Rafael Pacifics relied on Tyler Pearson to eat up innings en route to the win. Pearson pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out four.

John Holly was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just nine innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
