The San Rafael Pacifics survive the Hawaii Stars 3-2 thanks to Boggs' late-game heroics

Steve Boggs brought home the winning run to give the San Rafael Pacifics (25-13) the lead in the ninth inning, as the San Rafael Pacifics hung on to beat the Hawaii Stars (19-19) 3-2 on Wednesday.

Steve Detwiler was hit by a pitch to start the ninth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Chad Bunting. Finally, Boggs came to the plate with the score tied at one, and singled, bringing home Detwiler.

The San Rafael Pacifics held off the Hawaii Stars, as the Hawaii Stars were unable to overcome a two-run ninth inning deficit.

The Hawaii Stars scored one run in the ninth on two singles. Still, the Hawaii Stars couldn't draw even.

Julian Arballo got the win, running his season record to 5-2. He allowed one run over two innings. Arballo struck out five, walked none and gave up three hits.

Dallas Mahan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just 8 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
