Alex Guthrie went 1-4 and hit a home run, helping the Abilene Prairie Dogs (8-12) to a 6-3 victory over the Fort Worth Cats (14-6) on Thursday at LaGrave Field.

Scott Vander Weg shut down the Fort Worth Cats while he was on the mound. Vander Weg held the Fort Worth Cats hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

TJ Bozeman pitched lights out for the Fort Worth Cats. Bozeman held the Abilene Prairie Dogs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Billy Petrick improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Blake Nation (2-1) took the loss for the Fort Worth Cats. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
