The McAllen Thunder (20-36) outlasted the Abilene Prairie Dogs (22-32) at Walt Driggers Field 8-7 on Sunday after 10 innings.

With the score tied at seven in the tenth inning, Nelson Teilon came to the plate and singled, scoring Craig Hertler.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to eight lead changes in the game.

The McAllen Thunder got their bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Abilene Prairie Dogs. A three-run home run by Teilon delivered the runs in the first. The McAllen Thunder had three hits in the inning.

Chad Robinson improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the McAllen Thunder. He allowed two runs over two innings. Robinson struck out one, walked one and gave up three hits.

Jeremy Tietze (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.

The McAllen Thunder's Yasser Gomez, Teilon and Hertler combined for six hits and four RBIs.
