Ray Silva was cold coming off the bench, but Silva warmed up quickly as Silva stroked a key pinch-hit single in the eight to lead the Abilene Prairie Dogs (22-32) to a 7-6 win over the McAllen Thunder (20-36) on Tuesday at Walt Driggers Field.

With the score tied at six in the eighth inning, Silva came to the plate and singled.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to nine lead changes in the game.

Geraldo Valentin reached base three times. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Kevin Gelinas recorded his first win of the year for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. Gelinas struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
