The McAllen Thunder's Rosa comes through in the clutch, upends the Fort Worth Cats, 5-3

Gianison Rosa drove in the winning run to give the McAllen Thunder (11-22) the lead in the seventh inning, as the McAllen Thunder hung on to beat the Fort Worth Cats (17-15) 5-3 on Wednesday.

Mike Demperio singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Rosa came to the plate with the score tied at three, and singled, plating Demperio.

Demperio got on base three times in the game for the McAllen Thunder. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Frank James's eight strikeouts were enough to push the McAllen Thunder past the Fort Worth Cats. James allowed three earned runs on seven hits and one walk over eight innings.

Jose Ruiz racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Fort Worth Cats. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Mace Thurman (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
