Rafael Reyes kept the Edinburg Roadrunners (3-3) off the board during his five innings of work and the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (2-4) beat the Edinburg Roadrunners, 4-2.

Reyes struck out five and allowed no walks and five hits.

The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings would not relinquish the lead as the Edinburg Roadrunners were unable to weather a four-run sixth inning deficit.

The Edinburg Roadrunners scored two runs in the seventh on two singles. Still, the Edinburg Roadrunners couldn't catch the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings.

Nick Lazendorf racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Miguel Martinez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.

The lead stayed with the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings after the fourth, when they scored one run on an RBI single by Lazendorf.

The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings increased their lead with three runs in the sixth. A fielder's choice scored Miguel Alfonso to get the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Lazendorf's double, bringing home Jose Rivero.
