The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (50-41) had a tough outing on Thursday, as the Edinburg Roadrunners (57-35) dominated in a 9-2 win at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Edinburg Roadrunners scored three runs in the first on an RBI single by Carlos Hereaud, an RBI single by Derek Perren, and an RBI single by Stantrel Smith.
Hereaud got on base three times in the game for the Edinburg Roadrunners. He scored two runs and had one RBI.
Matison Smith improved to 8-6 on the year by picking up the win for the Edinburg Roadrunners. He allowed two runs over eight innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.
Coleman Stephens was charged with his seventh loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
