The McAllen Thunder (27-48) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 3-1 ballgame against the Edinburg Roadrunners (46-29) on Saturday at Edinburg Stadium.
While the McAllen Thunder led until the sixth inning, the Edinburg Roadrunners worked their way back and took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Smith.
Stantrel Smith did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Edinburg Roadrunners, reaching base three times. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Aaron Tullo racked up five strikeouts in the the Edinburg Roadrunners win. Tullo allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings.
Jeff Sakowski (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
