The Edinburg Roadrunners fend off the Fort Worth Cats' late push, hold on 3-2

The Fort Worth Cats (39-32) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Edinburg Roadrunners (42-29), and the Fort Worth Cats lost 3-2 to the Edinburg Roadrunners after falling behind by two runs in the second inning.

The Fort Worth Cats scored one run in the fourth on an RBI single by Scott Dalrymple. Despite their efforts, the Fort Worth Cats couldn't get over the hump.

It was a good day at the plate for the Edinburg Roadrunners' Derek Perren. Perren went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

The Edinburg Roadrunners relied on Miguel Martinez to eat up innings en route to the win. Martinez pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, eight hits and three walks while striking out four.

James Giulietti (3-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
