The Abilene Prairie Dogs need walk-off double to beat the Edinburg Roadrunners, 9-8

A walk-off double from Kyle Nichols brought home the winning run for the Abilene Prairie Dogs (25-39) in a 9-8 victory over the Edinburg Roadrunners (40-26) at Walt Driggers Field on Thursday.

Nichols racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 30 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.

Wilson Batista had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Kevin Gelinas recorded his third win of the year for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Paul Koss (3-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

Batista, Nichols, Joe Weik and Danny Gonzalez helped lead the Abilene Prairie Dogs. They combined for nine hits and six RBIs.
