The Fort Worth Cats (52-44) beat the Edinburg Roadrunners (60-36) 6-2 on Tuesday at Edinburg Stadium behind Brandon Jones, who collected three hits.

He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Edinburg Roadrunners couldn't get anything going as long as Kane Holbrooks was pitching. Holbrooks held the Edinburg Roadrunners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Tim Battle was hot from the plate for the Edinburg Roadrunners. Battle went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.

Trevor Harden got the win, running his season record to 10-4. He allowed two runs over six innings. Harden struck out five, walked three and gave up four hits.

Dave Dineli ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
