The Edinburg Roadrunners defeat the Abilene Prairie Dogs after late game sacrifice fly, 3-2

After five lead changes in Saturday's game at Edinburg Stadium, the Edinburg Roadrunners (22-14) finally pulled out a 3-2 win over the Abilene Prairie Dogs (15-20).

The Edinburg Roadrunners finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning. A sacrifice fly by Cristobal Santana scored Tim Battle and gave the Edinburg Roadrunners the lead for good.

Dave Dineli baffled the Abilene Prairie Dogs, striking out nine batters. Dineli allowed two earned runs, five hits and five walks over seven innings.

Despite the loss, the Abilene Prairie Dogs' Adam Rowe dominated the Edinburg Roadrunners' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Paul Koss recorded his first win of the year for the Edinburg Roadrunners. Koss struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Scott Vander Weg was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
