The Edinburg Roadrunners (4-5) beat the McAllen Thunder (2-7) 10-4 on Thursday thanks to a five-run fifth inning.

Derek Perren reached base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Matison Smith shut down the McAllen Thunder while he was on the mound. The McAllen Thunder managed just two hits off of Smith, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Quinn Bright (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out one.
