Luis Noel held the Edinburg Roadrunners (3-5) scoreless for six innings to boost the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (4-4) to a 5-1 victory.

Noel struck out four and allowed no walks and five hits.

Jose Rivero helped the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. Legum Baroso singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Fidel Hernandez. Finally, Rivero came to the plate with the game scoreless in the seventh inning and singled, bringing home Baroso and Miguel Alfonso.

Kirk Wetmore was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed one run.
