Four first-inning runs helped the San Angelo Colts (45-41) to a 7-3 win over the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (48-37) at Foster Field on Friday.

Salvador Paniagua racked up three RBIs on three hits for the San Angelo Colts. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the first and eighth innings.

The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings were led by Mario Mercedes's hitting. Mercedes went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second, third, and fifth innings.

Demetrius Banks recorded his third win of the year for the San Angelo Colts. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Luis Noel couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
