Early lead not enough for the Abilene Prairie Dogs, drop 4-2 decision to the San Angelo Colts

The Abilene Prairie Dogs (32-49) built an early edge on Monday, but the San Angelo Colts (42-41) roared back to steal a 4-2 victory at Foster Field.

While the Abilene Prairie Dogs led until the fifth inning, the San Angelo Colts worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Jason Diaz.

Salvador Paniagua put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the San Angelo Colts. He singled in the second and fourth innings, doubled in the sixth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.

Joe Weik had two extra-base hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He doubled in the first and third innings.

Mike Hart recorded his sixth win of the year for the San Angelo Colts. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Matt Larkins ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.

The San Angelo Colts were sparked by Paniagua and Daryl Jones, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
