A magnificent effort by Joe Ercolano lifted the Diamond Dawgs (14-7) to an 18-6 win in five innings over the Ruff Ryders (1-19) on Sunday at Shorefront Park.

Ercolano racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Diamond Dawgs. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Diamond Dawgs blew out the Ruff Ryders thanks to 22 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Diamond Dawgs scored eight runs in the fifth on a two-run home run by Steve Steponatis, a two-run triple by Ryan Marks, an RBI double by Joe Catarelli, and a three-run home run by Ercolano.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with seven lead changes.

Joe Alarimo racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Ruff Ryders. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.

The Diamond Dawgs easily handled the Ruff Ryders pitching as seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
