Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Stunners (15-7) outscored the The Federation (14-8) 20-19 in seven innings.
The two teams combined for 48 hits in the game.
The Stunners would not relinquish the lead as the The Federation were unable to weather a 13-run fifth inning deficit.
The The Federation scored on a double by Brian Iannello, an RBI single by Keith McCormackSr, and a two-run single by Jay Kurz in the fifth inning, a two-run double by Keith McCormackJr in the sixth inning, and a single by Nate Philips, , a two-run double by Paul Palladino, a sacrifice fly by Rich Stokey, a single by Harlan Smith, a home run by McCormackJr, a single by Ryan McCormack, an error, and an RBI double by Greg Folden in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the The Federation couldn't get over the hump.
Joe Monteleone racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Stunners. He singled in the first, fourth, and fifth innings and homered in the sixth inning.
McCormackJr racked up seven RBIs on two hits for the The Federation.
Gary Hammel got his fifth win for the Stunners despite allowing 19 runs over seven innings. He struck out none, walked seven and surrendered 23 hits.
Folden (1-1) took the loss for the The Federation. He allowed 20 runs in seven innings, walked five and struck out one.
The Stunners hammered the The Federation pitching as eight hitters had a field day, combining for 22 hits, 20 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
