A loss looked likely for the Got The Runs (10-7) when they trailed by six runs in the fourth inning, but the Got The Runs were able to capture the lead back with a an RBI single by Rob Schwicke in the fifth inning, spurring the Got The Runs to a 17-12 win over the Vandelay Industries (15-6) at Raynor Park two on Sunday.
With the score tied at 10 in the fifth inning, Schwicke came to the plate and singled, plating Steve Romano.
It was a good day at the plate for the Got The Runs' Schwicke. Schwicke went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fifth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 29 total runs and 36 hits during the game.
Neal Hecton racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Got The Runs. He tripled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.
David Malloy put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Vandelay Industries. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the third inning, and singled in the seventh inning.
The Got The Runs easily handled the Vandelay Industries pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
