The TJ Finleys (4-13) failed to take advantage of Jay S's effort at the plate on Thursday, losing 23-8 to the Excel Aire2 (22-1) in four innings at :Firemens Field In Lindenhurst.
S rocked the Excel Aire2 with two home runs. S went 2-2 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. S homered in the Second and fourth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 31 total runs and 32 hits during the game.
Nineteen runs in the first three innings helped the Excel Aire2 blow out the TJ Finleys. An RBI single by Ray Zimmerman, a three-run home run by Bobby Horan, a two-run single by Matt Mazzaro, an RBI double by Matt Petry, a two-run triple by Timmy Byrne, an RBI single by Bob Carroll, and a two-run double by Horan during the first inning and a two-run home run by Mike McCaffrey, an RBI double by Anthony Procopio, a two-run home run by Byrne, and a two-run home run by Zimmerman in the second inning helped the Excel Aire2 put some runs on the board early.
Byrne racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Excel Aire2.
Even though Procopio allowed eight runs over four innings he still recorded the victory, his fifteenth of the season. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered 11 hits.
The Excel Aire2 pounded the TJ Finleys pitching, as seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 22 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
Jeff Boardman was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 23 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out none.
