Both the Rusty Nutz (1-17) and the Polar Beers (9-10) put runners aboard on Monday, but it was the Rusty Nutz that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win at East Islip Marina.

Martinez racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Polar Beers. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

John Warshauer got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.

Greg Messina couldn't get it done on the bump for the Polar Beers, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
