The TJ Finleys (4-10) failed to take advantage of Andrew Martingale's effort at the plate on Thursday, losing 22-17 to the Excel Aire2 (19-1) in seven innings at :Firemens Field In Lindenhurst.

Martingale rocked the Excel Aire2 with two home runs. Martingale went 5-5 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Martingale homered in the first and sixth innings.

Frank DiFranco hit two home runs for the Excel Aire2. DiFranco went 4-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. DiFranco homered in the first and second innings.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 39 runs and 54 hits, including zero extra base hits.

The Excel Aire2 scored nine runs in the first inning to build an early lead.

Anthony Procopio got his twelfth win for the Excel Aire2 despite allowing 17 runs over seven innings. Procopio struck out none, walked three and gave up 21 hits.

Dave Gastiaburo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He allowed 22 runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out none.

The Excel Aire2 hammered the TJ Finleys pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 27 hits, 21 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
