A superb effort by Frank Catania lifted the Excel Aire2 (17-1) to a 25-11 win in seven innings over the FROSTIES (5-9) on Thursday at :Firemens Field In Lindenhurst.

Catania racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Excel Aire2. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth and seventh innings.

The two teams combined for 36 runs and 50 hits, including zero extra base hits.

Twelve runs in the first three innings helped the Excel Aire2 blow out the FROSTIES. A three-run home run by Bobby Horan and a three-run home run by Mike McCaffrey in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Ray Schaefer during the second inning helped the Excel Aire2 put some runs on the board early.

Sal Mancuso had two extra-base hits for the FROSTIES. He doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first and fifth innings, and homered in the seventh inning.

Anthony Procopio recorded his tenth win for the Excel Aire2 even though he allowed 11 runs over seven innings. Procopio struck out none, walked two and gave up 20 hits.

Sony Singh (0-2) took the loss for the FROSTIES. He allowed 25 runs in seven innings, walked five and struck out none.

The Excel Aire2 hammered the FROSTIES pitching as eight hitters had a field day, combining for 27 hits, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
