Down seven runs in the fourth, the south shore brewers (6-6) recovered thanks to Rob Zachman's single in the seventh, and pulled out a 9-8 win over the Mutants (2-7) on Tuesday at East Islip Marina Field #4.

With the south shore brewers trailing by one in the seventh inning, Zachman came to the plate and singled, scoring Mark Garafalo and Charlie Butler.

Zachman racked up two RBIs on two hits for the south shore brewers. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 31 hits during the game.

Garafalo racked up four RBIs on two hits for the south shore brewers. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Even though Danny O'Dell allowed eight runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered 17 hits.

James Cordara was charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked seven and struck out none.
