The Mutants cough up lead, the south shore brewers win 10-9

The south shore brewers (5-6) trailed by six in the third, but Erik Forsythe was able to capture the lead back with a sacrifice fly in the sixth, spurring the south shore brewers to a 10-9 win in seven innings over the Mutants (2-6) at East Islip Marina Field #4 on Tuesday.

With the Mutants trailing by one, hit a sacrifice fly, plating Joe Mahler.

Forsythe racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Mutants. He singled in the first inning.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 19 runs and 26 hits, including zero extra base hits.

Charlie Butler racked up three RBIs on two hits for the south shore brewers. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Danny O'Dell recorded his first win for the south shore brewers even though he allowed nine runs over seven innings. O'Dell struck out one, walked none and gave up 14 hits.

Mahler couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Mutants, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked six and struck out two.
