Wednesday was a great day for Pete DeRosa, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the BaseHeads (6-4) to a 19-7 victory over the South Shore Diggers (7-5) at Veterans in five innings.
DeRosa racked up six RBIs on four hits for the BaseHeads. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and homered in the third and fourth innings.
The BaseHeads' bats came to life in the third inning. In the inning the BaseHeads scored 11 runs.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.
Dave Valenti racked up two RBIs on two hits for the South Shore Diggers. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fourth inning.
Jack Schoen got his first win for the BaseHeads despite allowing seven runs over five innings. Schoen struck out none, walked one and gave up 13 hits.
Paul Pedersen was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 19 runs in four innings, walked two and struck out none.
The BaseHeads easily handled the South Shore Diggers pitching as eight hitters combined for 22 hits, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
