The Prince Edward Island (2-1) blew out the Newfoundland and Labrador (0-3) 11-0 on Friday at BBoys Vaughan Grove two after pouring on six runs in the second inning.
Brodie Koughan had a hot bat for the Prince Edward Island. Koughan went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
The Newfoundland and Labrador had no answer for Parker Harvey, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Harvey held the Newfoundland and Labrador hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Matt Barlow recorded his first win of the year for the Prince Edward Island. Barlow struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit.
Parker Gulliver couldn't get it done on the mound for the Newfoundland and Labrador, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out none.
