Porter Smith boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Prince Edward Island. He singled in the second, fifth, and seventh innings.

The Alberta couldn't get anything going as long as Kyle Pinksen was on the mound. The Alberta managed just one hit off of the the Prince Edward Island's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Austin Ely was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
