Ryan Koivu drove in the go-ahead run to give the Ontario (1-0) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Ontario hung on to beat the Nova Scotia (0-1) 4-1 on Thursday.

Conner Morro to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Troy Daring. Finally, Koivu came to the plate with the score tied at one in the sixth inning, and reached on an error, plating Morro.

Morro led the Ontario's offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Nathan Arruda had an impressive outing against the Nova Scotia's lineup. The Nova Scotia managed just two hits off of Arruda, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven during his four innings of work.

Jade Salmon-Williams improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Ontario. Salmon-Williams struck out three, walked one and gave up no hits.

Reilly ORourke ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
