The Manitoba (1-0) scored six runs in the eighth to cap a 12-6 win over the New Brunswick (0-1) on Thursday.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to 12 lead changes in the game.

The Manitoba pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. Scored Austin Pistawka and gave the Manitoba the lead for good.

Riley Poole went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Manitoba. He tripled in the third innings and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Wyatt Kemball baffled the New Brunswick, striking out six batters. Kemball allowed no earned runs, three hits and two walks over 3 2/3 innings.

Matthew Lavoie got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Brad Boulter (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
