The Rochester Honkers (28-41) trailed by six in the sixth, but the Rochester Honkers recovered thanks to a key blast in the eighth inning from Mike Lukkason to pull out a 13-12 win over the St. Cloud Rox (29-40) at Mayo Field on Saturday.
With the Rochester Honkers trailing by three in the eighth inning, Lukkason came to the plate and hit a grand slam, bringing home Justin Parr, Trevor Podratz and Chris Manning.
Lukkason racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Rochester Honkers. He singled in the first inning and homered in the eighth inning.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 25 runs and 29 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with eight pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Parr put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Rochester Honkers. He homered in the first inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.
Reid Roper improved to 3-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Rochester Honkers. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered three hits.
James Jensen (0-1) took the loss for the St. Cloud Rox. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
The Rochester Honkers' Parr, Lukkason and Manning combined for 10 hits and eight RBIs.
