The Willmar Stingers (40-28) had a tough outing on Friday, as the Mankato MoonDogs (41-27) dominated in a 6-0 win at Bill Taunton Stadium.
The Mankato MoonDogs scored two runs in the third on a solo home run by Danny Murphy and a sacrifice fly by Chase Simpson.
The Mankato MoonDogs were led by Kyle Turner's hitting. Turner went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings and tripled in the ninth inning.
The Willmar Stingers had no answer for Matt Marsh, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Marsh held the Willmar Stingers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.
Trevor Belicek improved to 3-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Mankato MoonDogs. Belicek struck out four, walked none and gave up two hits.
Andrew Pulido (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 7 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out seven.
