The Madison Mallards cough up lead, the Lakeshore Chinooks win 5-4

Things looked bleak for the Lakeshore Chinooks (33-33) when they trailed by four runs in the ninth inning, but the Lakeshore Chinooks recovered thanks to a key sacrifice fly in the twelfth inning from Charlie Markson to pull out a 5-4 win in 12 innings over the Madison Mallards (36-30) at Kapco Park, Mequon, WI.

With the score tied at four, hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Cody Yount.

Markson got on base four times in the game for the Lakeshore Chinooks. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first and ninth innings.

Forrest Chadwick racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Lakeshore Chinooks. He singled in the sixth inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Tyler Sparger looked sharp on the mound. Sparger gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his four innings of work.

John Hamilton (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
