The Lakeshore Chinooks (32-32) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Madison Mallards (35-29) on Monday, as the Lakeshore Chinooks fell 2-1 at Warner Park after falling behind by two runs in the first inning.
The Lakeshore Chinooks scored one run in the seventh on a solo home run by Connor Lynch. Unfortunately, the Lakeshore Chinooks weren't able to take the lead back.
Tyler Marincov paced the Madison Mallards at the plate. Marincov went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.
The Madison Mallards got the win thanks in large part to Daniel Gibson's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Gibson allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk over eight innings.
Nick Soldano (5-4) took the loss for the Lakeshore Chinooks. He lasted just 7 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
