The Alexandria Beetles (30-34) outlasted the Willmar Stingers (38-26) on Monday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 10-7 win at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.
Tanner Vavra racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Alexandria Beetles. He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the third and seventh innings.
Max Kuhn racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Willmar Stingers. He homered in the ninth inning.
Scott Sanderson got his third win for the Alexandria Beetles despite allowing five runs over five innings. Sanderson struck out four, walked six and gave up six hits.
Kyle Fischer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
