The Willmar Stingers (34-24) and the Rochester Honkers (24-34) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Willmar Stingers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 4-2 win at Bill Taunton Stadium.

The Willmar Stingers staved off the Rochester Honkers as the Rochester Honkers were unable to match the Willmar Stingers down the stretch.

The Rochester Honkers scored two runs in the seventh on a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Reid Roper. Still, the Rochester Honkers couldn't catch the Willmar Stingers.

Forrestt Allday racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Willmar Stingers. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Kyle Fischer picked up the win for the Willmar Stingers. Fischer allowed two earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Jared Miller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
