Kay helps the Thunder Bay Border Cats down the St. Cloud Rox 5-2

Cory Kay went 1-3, helping the Thunder Bay Border Cats (25-30) to a 5-2 victory over the St. Cloud Rox (19-36) on Friday at Subway Field.

He singled in the second inning.

The St. Cloud Rox couldn't get anything going as long as Matt Cooper was on the mound. Cooper held the St. Cloud Rox hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Keaton Siomkin had an impressive outing against the Thunder Bay Border Cats' lineup. The Thunder Bay Border Cats managed just one hit off of the the St. Cloud Rox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Dan Ludwig improved to 4-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Thunder Bay Border Cats. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Tadd Johansen couldn't get it done on the bump for the St. Cloud Rox, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
