Friday was a great day for Jordan Adams, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Waterloo Bucks (29-26) to a 17-9 victory over the Rochester Honkers (23-32) at Mayo Field.
Adams racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Waterloo Bucks. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the second and fifth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 26 total runs and 30 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were 10 pitchers used in the game.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Waterloo Bucks to easily put away the Rochester Honkers. A wild pitch during the first inning and an error, an error, , a two-run single by Kevin Kaczmarski, and a solo home run by Adams in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Waterloo Bucks.
The Rochester Honkers couldn't get anything going as long as Brock Hudgens was on the mound. Hudgens gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during his five innings of work.
Dylan Nelson couldn't get it done on the mound for the Rochester Honkers, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out six.
The Waterloo Bucks pounded the Rochester Honkers pitching, as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
