The Alexandria Beetles (23-32) pounded the Mankato MoonDogs (38-17) on Friday 9-1 at Franklin Rogers Park.

The Alexandria Beetles scored three runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Jimmy Pickens, a sacrifice fly by Matt Beaty, and an RBI double by Robert Case.

Case had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Ali Simpson struck out 10, paving the way for a the Alexandria Beetles win. Simpson allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks over six innings.

Despite the loss, the Mankato MoonDogs' Mike Avila dominated the Alexandria Beetles' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Kyle McGrath was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.

The Alexandria Beetles were sparked by Matt Lowenstein and Case, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
