The Willmar Stingers (36-24) and the Duluth Huskies (33-27) passed the lead back and forth five times on Thursday at Bill Taunton Stadium, but in the end the Willmar Stingers pulled out a 9-6 win over the Duluth Huskies.
The Willmar Stingers took the lead in the fourth inning and held on for the victory. A two-run error scored Dillon Haupt and Max Kuhn and gave the Willmar Stingers the lead for good.
It was a good day at the plate for the Willmar Stingers' Michael Suchy. Suchy went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second and fourth innings.
Scott Lieser got the win, running his season record to 6-1. He allowed two runs over six innings. Lieser struck out two, walked none and gave up seven hits.
Max MacNabb (3-3) took the loss for the Duluth Huskies. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out four.
