The bats were busy at Subway Field on Thursday, and when the dust cleared the Thunder Bay Border Cats (24-30) had an 11-10 win over the St. Cloud Rox (19-35).

The two teams combined for 29 hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

The Thunder Bay Border Cats pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. Scored Omar Cotto and gave the Thunder Bay Border Cats the lead for good.

The Thunder Bay Border Cats would not relinquish the lead as the St. Cloud Rox were unable to weather a seven-run sixth inning deficit.

The St. Cloud Rox scored on a two-run single by Boo Vazquez and a two-run double by Jamie Simpson in the eighth inning and a two-run single by Mark Rhine and an RBI single by Vazquez in the ninth inning. Still, the St. Cloud Rox couldn't catch the Thunder Bay Border Cats.

Jerrick Suiter racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Thunder Bay Border Cats. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Blake Fonfara recorded his fourth win of the year for the Thunder Bay Border Cats. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Zach Hirsch ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out two.
